ProPortion Foods - Innovative High Quality Foods Since 1974

Company History

ProPortion Foods has been supplying cakes and desserts to Australian consumers since 1974. Initially a retail operation, with a high street presence, the company made a strategic decision in the late 1990’s to concentrate on the institutional and bulk catering markets. In 2003 the company established a specialist division to develop and market desserts with a focus on health and wellbeing. ProPortion Foods is now recognised as a leading supplier of desserts to the healthcare market.

ProPortion Foods specialises in the manufacture and supply of portion-controlled desserts and snacks - from cakes and pies, to puddings and muffins, to our innovative Smartserveâ„¢ range of soft-textured high-nutrition dairy desserts.

All of our products are developed with our customers' business in mind. Our focus is on providing our customers with convenient, cost-effective, easy to use solutions for their dessert and snack food menu.

Innovation and Research

Research and development is integral to our overall approach. We are continuously investing significant resources into this area. Our food technologists actively investigate the opportunities for incorporation of new ingredients into our products, to enhance their benefits. Our healthcare division is particularly active in the development of new foods that contribute to the wellbeing of both hospital patients and the aged population.

Expertise

Our executive board of directors has significant experience in the management of large corporate procurement contracts as well as Government tenders. We have an established team of food technologists and product engineers that allows us to create new and exciting foods to meet the changing trends and requirements of our customers. Our healthcare division specialists can provide guidance and recommendations on the suitability of our foods for specific applications.

Quality Assurance

Our foods are manufactured in facilities that have an accredited Hazard and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programme. Throughout all of our facilities Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are employed. Our quality control systems incorporate rigorous laboratory testing for microbiological integrity. This is of particular importance to our customers in the hospital sector.
